THE WEAVE:

Sometimes, our ideas, actions, and philosophies come into fashion, and just as quickly, they can fall out of fashion.  If we allow ourselves to be pushed and pulled by the tides of popular style, we’ll never find out who we truly are. 

Do you stand for what you’ve identified with when there is no praise, just as much as when there is?

As it comes into opposition with the Sun in Leo, the Full Moon in Aquarius highlights the push-pull between wanting to be at-the-center-of, and where we are innately on-the-fringe-of the groups we belong to.

In Leo, fame can be an intoxicant.  In Aquarius, being different can be a protective crutch.  In both realms, we find ourselves to be important in some way.  

Can we keep a level head when the winds of favor fill our sails?  Can we keep our own fire burning when no one else is fanning the flame?  When we give something prestige and importance, we have found meaning in it.  Analyze what you have given meaning.  Ask yourself some honest questions about your motivations.

Genius is praised as genius because it ventures into territories not yet illuminated.  Often, a genius works in the dark for many years, or an entire lifetime, without any affirmation or approval from outside of themselves.  What drives them comes from within, from the heart, from the divine spark. Some call it the genie; the jinn; the daimon; the driving force within.

On this full moon, remember what you loved as a child.  Who were you before you were in competition with anyone?  Who would you strive to be if there were no instagram, no linkedin, no comparison?  What if the creative genius of others simply sparked the fires of your own?  What if another’s moment in the Sun is not a reflection of your failure?  What if you weren’t trying to ”make it” but make meaning?  Where would that meaning lead you next?

Your genuine expressions of praise, interest, and encouragement are your currency now. If there is someone you admire and are inspired by, celebrate them, let them know. Be generous with the light you shine on the genius of those around you.
