As Venus retrograde in Leo squares Uranus in Taurus, we can release our expectations. Notice where you've been gripped. In rock climbing, you can lose a lot of energy from 'over-gripping'. For the sake of efficiency and conserving energy to complete a difficult climb, it helps to hold the rock as loosely as you can without falling off. It is easier said than done to cultivate a light touch while climbing dozens of feet above the ground. We hang on because we don't want to fall. We want to "flash" the route- to climb it cleanly the first time, with no mistakes, or maybe because we are scared of falling... In rock climbing, when you're scared to fall, it is exactly what you need to practice. Your fear of falling will hold you back from reaching a mental state where you can concentrate on the moves your body is making. I fall a lot when I climb. I fall more than my friends. In fact, I fall so much, I'm working on climbing down to a "safe" position when I feel like I'm going to fall, working the moves, and trying again, rather than just "sending" it, and taking a huge "whipper" from well above my last clip. So what is it that you need to do more of? Do you need to practice falling? Or do you need to practice being less reckless? Maybe it's a mixture of both. Maybe you just need to loosen your grip.
