THE MATH: Full Moon & Lunar Eclipse in Scorpio = The Comfort Bringer

THE WEAVE:

The energy of Eclipses don’t always “hit” exactly on the day of the Eclipse, but it’s still a good idea to be gentle with ourselves on this day.

May 5th’s Lunar Eclipse in Scorpio gives us the drive to take responsibility in the places we are ready to step into who we are becoming, but it does not come without its own grief process surrounding who we have been.

Memories surface to be seen, felt, and released. What can no longer remain in the shadows steps into the light of the full moon. Tears of grief water the seedlings of resolve.

Rest as well as you can during this restructuring. Imbue the water you drink with the gratitude you can feel. Trust the changes, and their pace. Sleep is as good of medicine as anything.

I drew this image years ago in response to a myth written by a friend. It was called, ‘The Comfort Bringer’. It was a story about a person who people are always telling their grief to- On the street, in the store, waiting for the bus, total strangers stop this person to tell them their sorrows… Perhaps because they feel safe, perhaps because they recognize themselves in The Comfort Bringer’s visage. It’s a story of the quest for intimacy and connection- Scorpio themes.

This Eclipse Season, I’ve heard more than one story of people divorcing their partners, death of pets and loved ones, and the crisis of self-understanding that follows breaking free from what we have over-identified with. I’ve overhead passing conversations that, “grief comes in waves.” I’ve waited tables on people while they cry. I’ve cried while waiting tables as customers ask me if there is anything they can pray for me for as they pray over their meal.

Remember that everyone is carrying their own sorrow now. Be as gentle with others as you would hope they would be with you. Breathe into the kindness you receive.
